Pitch Wars Interview with Christy Chao and her mentor, Isabel Davis

PW Interviews

Our mentors are editing, our mentees are revising, and we hope you’re making progress on your own manuscript! While we’re all working toward the Agent Showcase on November 3rd-9th, we hope you’ll take a moment during your writing breaks and get to know our 2016 Pitch Wars Teams.

And now, we have . . .

Christy: Why did you choose Isabel?

I’m thrilled to be working with Isabel and was happily surprised she chose me! I knew from the moment I finished reading her wish list that I’d be subbing to her. Careful Twitter research made me 110% sure we could work well together!

Isabel: Why did you choose Christy?

I chose Christy’s book because from the beginning, the characters grabbed me. I was pulled into their world, and rooting for them. I felt everything they felt, and I knew Christy is truly talented.

Christy: Summarize your book in three words.

Space. Pirates. TimeTravel. (yes, I understand the definition of cheating…)

Isabel: Summarize Christy’s book in three words.

Adventure. Rebels. Galactic.

Christy: Tell us about yourself. What makes you and your MS unique?

Hello! I’m Christy 🙂 I’m obsessed with YA. All of it!!! I’m originally from San Diego, but I’ve lived on the East Coast since college. My favorite color is green and I’m allergic to cats (but send me all the cat GIFs please!). I’m also allergic to scary movies. When I’m not reading, writing, or eating, I’m working towards a graduate degree in Chemical Engineering. Yep, I’m a science geek enthusiast and I wanted my MS to include things I love like women in STEM, cool technologies/engineering, and hackers!

Isabel: Tell us about yourself. Something we might not already know.

I design greeting cards for a living 🙂

Thank you for supporting our Pitch Wars Teams! And don’t forget to stop by the Agent Showcase starting November 3rd to see how our teams do in the final round.
