Publisher:Penner Publishing Publication date:01/19/2016 About the book … The year is 1992 and Victoria Hastings Harrison Greene—reviled matriarch of a sprawling family—is dying. After surviving the Oklahoma Dust Bowl and the Great Depression, Victoria refuses to leave this earth before revealing the secrets she’s carried for decades. Once the child of a loving family during peaceful times, a shocking death shattered her life. Victoria came face to face with the harshness of the world. As the warm days of childhood receded to distant memory, Victoria learns to survive. No matter what it takes. To keep her family alive in an Oklahoma blighted by dust storms and poverty, Victoria makes choices—harsh ones, desperate ones. Ones that eventually made her into the woman her grandchildren fear and whisper about. Ones that kept them all alive. Hers is a tale of tragedy, love, murder, and above all, the conviction to never stop fighting. ADD THIS TITLE TO GOODREADS PRE-ORDER NOW FOR JAN 19 RELEASE About the author … C. H. Armstrong Twitter | Website | Facebook I’m a life-long lover of books and written material.  When asked what one thing I couldn’t do without if stranded on a deserted island, my answer would be a book — preferably To Kill a Mockingbird, but I’ll take anything. I’ve always written, which is probably the reason I pursued a degree in Journalism in college.  But I never thought I had the imagination to write fiction.  I finally sat down and made myself do it and was quite surprised that my characters talked to me inside my head.  The process, while not easy, was much easier than I’d imagined. I’ve written two fiction novels.  The first is The Edge of Nowhere, which is a work of historical/women’s fiction and was inspired by my grandmother’s experiences as a young widow during the 1930s Oklahoma Dust Bowl and Great Depression.  This book is under contract with Penner Publishing and expected to be released in Spring 2016....

EMERALD BOUND by Teresa Richards … a journey to release day

I participated in Pitch Madness in March of 2014 (go Team Fizzee!) and received several requests for more material during the game. Ultimately, all of the agents who requested passed, but they all gave me great feedback and encouraged me to keep trying to find the perfect home for my book. In June of 2015 (yes, over a year later), I got an email from Evernight Teen saying they were interested in publishing my book! It’s been a bit of a whirlwind since then, and my book releases September 25, 2015, a year and a half (and around 70 query letters) after participating in Pitch Madness. My book, Emerald Bound, is a dark YA twist on The Princess and the Pea. Here’s the blurb: Emerald Bound a dark fairy tale twist Amazon A princess, a pea, and a tower of mattresses. This is the sliver that survives of a story more nightmare than fairy tale. Maggie Rhodes, high school junior and semi-reformed stalker, learns the tale’s true roots after a spying attempt goes awry and her best friend Kate ends up as the victim of an ancient curse. At the center of the curse lies an enchanted emerald that has been residing quietly in a museum for the past fifty years. Admirers of the gem have no idea that it feeds on life. Or that it’s found its next victim in Kate. Enter Lindy, a school acquaintance who knows more than she’s letting on, and Garon, a handsome stranger claiming he knows how to help, and Maggie is left wondering who to trust and how to save her best friend before it’s too late.
